We Didn't Rush to Say NEET PG 2026 Strike Rate

NEET PG got over and we waited. 

For a full week after NEET PG 2026, our team collected each recall, sat with the paper and went through one question at a time — matching each against our bank, checking the clinical scenario, the framing, the answer.  

By the end of that week, the count was in. 180 out of 180. Every single question on the paper traced back to a question our users had already practised inside Pre-PG. 

We've been doing this for a long time. This is the first time it hit 100 — and we wanted to be certain before we said a word.

This Isn't a First-Time Fluke 

A perfect year is easy to dismiss as luck. So, look at the years before it. 

We had the highest strike for NEET PG, every single cycle, for the last five years running — the kind of record that doesn't happen by accident. We laid all of it out, year by year, with the numbers, in our earlier breakdown. 

For six consecutive NEET PG cycles, Pre-PG has maintained a strike rate of 97% or higher .

The numbers matter. But the pattern matters more.

The Problem With How “Strike Rate” Was Being Calculated 

Pre-PG wasn't the platform that started the strike-rate marketing around NEET PG. Other platforms were already using strike rate as a major marketing claim and publishing impressive-looking numbers. 

But there was a fundamental problem with how these numbers were being calculated. 

A “match” did not always mean that the student had actually practiced that question. 

In many cases, platforms would count a NEET PG question as a match if the same information had appeared anywhere in their content — whether in a video lecture, notes, teaching slides, PDFs, or other study material. 

For example, if a particular concept was there in their video lecture and a question on that concept appeared in NEET PG, it could be counted as a “match.” 

But is that really a match? 

We don't think so. 

Calling that a question match gives the student a vague and potentially misleading picture of what the platform actually helped them predict. 

The distinction is simple: 

“We taught this concept somewhere” ≠ “We gave you this question to practice.” 

At Pre-PG, we chose a very different and much more straightforward definition. 

For us, a question is a match only if that question was actually present in our question bank. 

Not because the concept was discussed in a video lecture. 

Not because the answer appeared in our notes. 

Not because it was mentioned on a teaching slide. 

Not because a similar concept was covered somewhere in our study material. 

If the question wasn't part of the Pre-PG question bank, we simply don't count it as a match. 

That is the kind of strike rate that we believe a NEET PG aspirant deserves to know. 

We don't believe a broader definition makes a strike rate more impressive. It only makes it less meaningful. 

Even with this strict, question-bank-only definition of a match, Pre-PG has consistently delivered the highest strike rate for the last five years. 

We didn't broaden the definition to make the number bigger. 

We kept the definition narrow — and the number still remained the highest. 

The Difference Is Not Just the Number. It’s How You Arrive at It. 

You see within hours of the exam ending, multiple renowned platforms  began publishing their strike-rate numbers.  This is the story of every year. 

Don't just take our word for it. Keep an eye on how strike rates are reported in the coming years. Look at how quickly the numbers are announced, what is actually being counted as a match, whether question-level proof is provided, and whether those claims remain available for students to verify later. 

This year too, the numbers were impressive — around 96% and similar figures were being claimed — but the question was: 

How was that number actually arrived at? 

Even this year, there was no detailed, question-by-question mapping available for students to independently understand what was being counted as a match. 

And that is where we believe strike-rate marketing becomes problematic. 

A strike rate is not just a number you put out a few hours after an exam. It requires actually going through the NEET PG paper, mapping every question against your question bank, checking whether it is a genuine match, and then calculating the final number. 

That is exactly what we do at Pre-PG.

And only then, publish. 

Interestingly, some of the strike-rate claims made immediately after NEET PG 2026 are now difficult to find in the same marketing material where they were originally promoted. This becomes particularly visible when students themselves question or challenge the methodology behind such claims. We don't announce a strike rate first and work backwards to justify it. We do the work first — and announce the strike rate only after it has been verified.
